Mardi Gras 2014

Posted on:

On Tuesday, March 4, 2014, Lee Health and Rehab employees, residents, and patients celebrated Mardi Gras with our annual Mardi Gras Parade.

Mardi Gras is French for “Fat Tuesday,” reflecting the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season.  Popular practices to celebrate Mardi Gras include wearing masks, costumes, parades, and parties.

As part of our celebration of Mardi Gras, our employees organized a parade for our residents.  As  you can see from the below pictures, many departments used teamwork to create beautiful decorations and floats out of everyday objects.  Our residents and patients watched the parade with some celebrating by dressing up.  After the parade, all residents, patients, and employees were treated to punch and king cake in the dining room.

At Lee Health and Rehab, we take pride in excellent resident and patient care but we also take pride in our community’s ability to get together and have a fun time!  Our employees and residents definitely know how to put on a fun party!
