Buster is a Certified TDI (Therapy Dog International) Bassett Hound who visits weekly with Residents and staff.
Requirements for joining TDI, all dogs must be tested and evaluated by a Certified TDI Evaluator. A dog must be a minimum of one (1) year of age and have a sound temperament; which includes tests to evaluate the dog’s temperament and behavior around people with the use of some type of service equipment such as wheelchairs, crutches, etc.
Studies have shown that interaction with dogs can:
* Lower blood pressure
* Rehabilitate and promote relaxation
* Relieve agitation, anxiety, and stress
