CNA Week 2021

Posted on:

CNA Week is annually week to celebrate and recognize the important work that CNAs do all year long. This week allows observing the wonderful work that CNAs have done for all the people they have cared for throughout their careers.

The certified nursing assistant profession officially began around the time of World War I. Around this time in 1914, there was a high demand for care to treat wounded soldiers. Because of the amount of care needed, volunteer nurse aide services were started by the American Red Cross. These first CNAs worked alongside army nurses treating soldiers and filling empty positions in hospitals throughout reserves, bases, and even civilian hospitals. This was one of the first times CNAs were truly recognized and praised for their strength and courage as caregivers and advocates for their patients.

Over the next 60 years, people started to realize the importance of CNAs.  In 1977, a national day of appreciation was created.

At Lee Health & Rehab Center, we want to celebrate the amazing CNAs in our facility.  We want to show the CNAs how much they mean to our residents and our facility.  Join us May 17th-23rd as we begin the week-long observance.  Below is a list of events that will be taking place:
