Effects of Diabetes

Did you know that over 422 million people worldwide have diabetes?  Unfortunately, the prevalence of diabetes has been steadily increasing over the last several decades.  With more people being diagnosed, there come a lot of questions and concerns.  Join us for a forum held by Kellie Eads, Wound Care Nurse/LPN, and Chanda Mullins, Activities Assistant, CNA,  as they discuss ways to take better care of yourself or loved ones who have diabetes. Some of the topics they will be exploring are how diabetes affects wounds, the nutritional aspect of diabetes, proper carb management, and the difference between Type 1 & Type 2 diabetes.

People with diabetes can live long and healthy lives when their diabetes is detected and well monitored.  With the help of medical professionals, we can help drastically reduce the risk of developing diabetes and help improve the lives of those who have it.
