Resident Spotlight: Crystal Grubb

Posted on:

Each week, we feature a resident at Lee Health & Rehab Center to learn more about them and share their story.  We call this our Resident Spotlight Series.  This week, we would like to introduce one of our residents, Crystal!

Crystal was admitted to Lee Health and Rehab in 2016. When Crystal came to us, she had limited physical ability & limited verbal skills. Since her admission, Crystal has shown tremendous improvement. Today, she enjoys active games, outings, bingo, special events, and entertainment, including karaoke. She loves to go on car rides with her family!

Crystal is the mother to two beautiful children and very proudly shows their pictures to other residents and employees in the center. Crystal always brings a laugh or smile to those around her. It was noted by nurses that she is very social and always tries to help other residents by getting drinks and snacks from the kitchen for them. When Crystal wins bingo, she will purposely pick something that she knows her roommate likes and will give it to her. She conveys kindness to all and is always so giving.

She always visits the administration offices to see if she can get anyone a drink out of the snack machine with her own money. Staff members also stated that she is very entertaining and joking all the time. One of the employees made her a t-shirt with her most well-known phrase, “Are you following me?” If you ever are walking behind her, she will laugh and ask if you are following her. She is always cheerful, loves to sing, and dance.

We’re so thankful that Crystal came to us, and most of all that we gained a friend in her.
